Welcome to the LBHS Girls Program

A dynamic partnership between LB Football Academy and Bermuda High School (BHS). This merger aims to establish a structured development pathway for girls' football, offering a comprehensive framework that supports growth, learning, and enjoyment of the sport. Our goal is to refine the structure of girls' football, providing the necessary framework for comprehensive development through incremental improvements with a long-term focus. We believe in fostering a balanced approach that allows our players to excel in football while also participating in other sports and activities.

Structured Development Pathway

For the 2024-2025 season, we are excited to implement a curriculum that connects age groups, ensuring progressive development each year. Our training sessions are designed to be engaging, fun, and purposeful, with clear learning objectives to facilitate the development of each player. We will also provide education for all volunteer coaches to enhance their skills and understanding of the program's requirements, ensuring a high standard of coaching throughout the program.

Mission

Our mission is to contribute to the development of girls' football in Bermuda by introducing, cultivating, and retaining girls within the sport. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every girl has the opportunity to play, learn, and grow.

Vision

Our vision is to build a premier girls' academy dedicated to developing female players to reach global standards, opening doors for educational and professional opportunities. Our academy will maintain a dual pathway: one for community outreach, ensuring all girls can play and enjoy football, and another for those with the ambition and potential to excel, providing the structure and support needed to reach their goals.

Girls Pathway for 2024-2025

For the 2024-2025 season, we will offer structured pathways for different age groups to ensure appropriate development stages:

U13's: Learning to Compete

U11's

U9's

U7's

Peewee Program

Through the merger of LB and BHS, we also provide opportunities for girls to play within the boys' teams at the Vasco Youth Program (VYP) when appropriate. This dual registration option allows girls to gain extra sessions and experience, ensuring they are continuously challenged and supported in their development.

LB Player Development Philosophy

Our approach centers on cultivating individual growth within the collective to enhance overall team performance. We prioritize ball-centric training methodologies, embedding players' proficiency with the ball into every facet of our sessions. By structuring activities to evoke specific behaviors essential for efficiency, we foster a culture of continuous improvement. Encouraging players to problem-solve instills independence in their decision-making on the field. Additionally, we place significant emphasis on developing not only good players but also individuals of character.

Key Elements of Our Approach

Physical Development

Learning how to move and control their body.

Technical Development

Developing a true understanding of the ball.

Tactical Development

Learning how to play the game.

Psychological Development

Developing the mental disciplines that enhance performance and character.

The LBxBHS Program App

To streamline communication, we will transition from WhatsApp groups to the Heja app, where all club and team communication will be held. Further instructions will be sent to all parents via email once registration is complete.

Player Rules

  • Respect all teammates, officials, coaches, parents, and fans.
  • Be kind.
  • Have fun and learn.
  • Bring a water bottle with your name on it.
  • Name all gear.
  • Give 120%.
  • Ask questions.
  • Be brave.

Bursary Program

We welcome all donations to assist in developing a bursary fund that supports less fortunate players to continue participating as the program evolves. If you would like to apply for a bursary, please submit a request email to the board at lbxbhsfc@gmail.com.

Travels and Learning to Compete Methodology

At the U13's age, it is crucial for players to learn how to compete and be provided with experiences that allow them to do so. Playing within the BFA league and possibly joining boys' teams for more advanced girls are ways to achieve this. Our focus is on preparing the girls through the ages U7-U11 so that when they reach the competitive age, they are ready to go out and compete. In 2025, we aim to take the U13 squad to compete in an international tournament, providing them with invaluable experience.
